Preventive Car Maintenance

Even with the passage of health care reform, the debate continues. There are many different ideas and opinions on what health care reform is going to do or not do. It is a complicated issue because we have a complex health care system or mix of systems. But there are some issues there's not much debate on: 1) the importance of primary care; 2) practicing preventive care, and 3) establishing good health care practices.  If we can work out a health care plan that includes all three, we will be well on our way to preventing many serious health care problems.
The same is true for autos.  There's not much debate about the value of:  1) having a trusted auto care facility that provides good, quality care; 2) practicing preventive car maintenance; and 3) establishing good driving and auto care practices.  We founded our business on preventive maintenance on vehicles.  For our customers, this means scheduling regular "check-ups" and servicing as well as encouraging good driving habits.  Over the 31 years we have been in business we have seen the benefits that our customers have received by looking after their vehicles.
Our customer's cars and vans have been SAFER, MORE RELIABLE AND MORE VALUABLE.
There's another important part of preventive care, and that's making sure our  employees are well cared for.  We have always believed that our employee's are the most important resource that our company has and looking after them while they are at work is a number one priority. It is very important to us that our employees work in a modern clean and safe environment. On top of this we know that if our employees are healthy and happy that we will be better able to provide quality service to our customers. We have always provided health care insurance for our employees but as the costs go up this has been a major challenge.
Because we buy insurance in the "Small Group" market the cost of our premiums is based on the average age of the employees in the plan. Most of our employees stay with for a long time so this puts pressure on our average age. There have been all sorts of reports on what is going to happen to premiums this year without health care reform but not many with reform, so we will just have to wait until July to see what happens.
This year we joined the Healthy Workplace program that Howard County Health Dept. started. We managed to start off at the bronze level and hope to graduate to silver next year.
The bottom line is that whether you are talking people or whether you are talking cars, preventive care works.  It results in healthier, happier, people and safer, reliable, more valuable cars.
